Tim Faircloth - Cycled from Lands End to John O’Groats in memory of his dad and raised over £14,000.
My dad John Faircloth was in his late 50s when he became unwell with symptoms of tiredness and general weakness. He was eventually diagnosed with CLL (chronic lymphatic leukaemia).
Very sadly we lost dad just before Christmas 2008, and he is very sadly missed by his family, friends and everyone who knew this kind, honest caring man.
And so it was that I found myself doing a 1,000 mile bike ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats in memory of dad.
I told my dad I would be doing this event for a charity that is now part of our family, and I am determine to follow in his footsteps of “If you say you are going to do something you mean it”!

Tim Faircloth
"I sadly lost my lovely Dad to leukaemia in December 2008, but carried out the promise I made him, of completing a 1000+ mile bike ride in September 2009. My friend Chris Lord and I cycled over 1000 miles from Lands End to John O' Groats over 15 days and managed to raise more than £20k for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
"It was very tough but at the same time extremely rewarding, and I hope my Dad would've been proud of our achievement."
